A request for help to fund Solar Farms SOS at Stowe by Chartley

An independent fund has kindly been set up by Jane and Jeff Harrnett in the name of “Solar Farms SOS – Stowe by Chartley” to help the working party, to continue to raise objections and concerns regarding solar farms in the area.  So far, all the costs of the working party have been met by the parish council, with help from a local business. For example, just meetings, so far have cost almost £500, to rent the hall and printing costs are on average £160 per meeting. Supported by lots of voluntary help.

Please note, the working party is made up of both Parish Councillors and local parishioners.

Anyone can donate, even if you don’t live in the area, any help will most definitely be gratefully received.

How do I give help and support the aims of the Solar Farms SOS – Stowe by Chartley?

The independent fund will provide the following options, which can be used to donate, if you wish:

  1. Bank transfers: you can donate direct into our bank account, which is held at Unity Trust Bank Birmingham, in the name of: “Solar Farms SOS – Stowe by Chartley” sort code: 60-83-01 account number: 20540265 when you make a donation direct into the bank, sometimes it shows an association with Stowe by Chartley PC, please note this is an independent ring-fenced account, with the funds managed by Jane and Jeff Harnett.
  2. Cheques: Make a cheque out to: “Solar Farms SOS – Stowe by Chartley” and hand or send it to Jane or Jeff.
  3. Cash:. Please do not send cash by post.
  4. Give your donation: to any member of the solar farms working party.
  5. Bring your donation: Cheque or cash to any public meeting.
  6. Accounts: An Income and expenditure account will be completed annually and will be closed on the 31st of March in any one year and will be published on or before the 1st June every year. Stowe by Chartley Parish Council have agreed to host this information on their website as a gesture of good will, under the red solar farm button under “Donations”, on the home page of their website, and displayed on the PC notice board which is by the church, for scrutiny by anyone.
  7. Updates on fundraising: A regular update on funds raised, will be listed on the Stowe by Chartley Parish Council website under the red solar farm button, under “Donations”, by kind permission of the PC .
  8. Donation Forms: Are available if you wish to complete a form, however it is not essential if you do not require acknowledgement of your donation.
  9. Anonymous Donations: You may fill in a donation form, please let us know confidentially if you wish to donate anonymously, by email or text, contact details below for reference. Or you can just donate cash in an unmarked envelope
  10. Account Closed: If the account is closed for any reason and if there are any remaining funds, they will be donated to a similar project or projects, where possible within the county of Staffordshire.

Please note, it was decided not to use a just giving page, as most take 5% or10% of any donation in commission and we believe everything given should be used to support the cause of objecting to Solar Farms in the area.

What should I give and who can give a donation?

Any donation large or small will be gratefully received. Contributions can be received from anyone, individuals, organisations or businesses and on request an invoice or receipt can be provided, if required.
