| 🚗 Dogs Die in Hot Cars – Don’t Take the Risk 🚗🐶
As the weather warms up, please remember:
Never leave your dog in a car – even for a few minutes.
On a day as mild as 22°C, a car can reach 47°C within an hour 🌡️
Shade and open windows won’t keep them safe.
💔 Every year, dogs suffer or die in these conditions – it’s simply not worth the risk.
👀 If you see a dog in a car:
· Monitor the dog – are they distressed or overheating?
· Try to locate the owner (ask nearby staff to make an announcement)
· If the dog is in danger, call 999 immediately
☀️ Hot weather safety reminders:
· Avoid walking dogs during the hottest part of the day
· Carry water and keep walks short
· If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them
✅ Bottom line:
If you can’t take your dog with you, leave them at home where it’s safe and cool.
